Visiting and looking great!

We saw Jim for a bit last night and he looked great. With him now. He got the vent out about an hour ago which is great that he was good enough for that to happen. He can't really talk much but is whispering. It's finally hit me that this is real!!!!!!
I'll keep everyone posted as much as possible!

  2. Wow! He got the vent out quick!! I couldn't talk after I got the vent out either. I was actually at a whisper for 2 months!! It's very rare that that happens though.

Such great news! Keep up the great work James!!

  3. All sounding really positive - yay! Will had almost no voice for about 6 weeks afterwards. Very frustrating and worrying at the time but his voice is completely fine now. You are taking me back 7 months so vividly... such a CRAZY thing to go through. Am remembering the weirdness of Critical Care and all those machines and the constant monitoring of every possible bodily function... Will was VERY hot for a week or so afterwards - he had the air temperature in his little room super cold and when he moved to the ward we had to track down a fan... Hope they manage to keep the pain under control so that Jim can start to get mobile in the next few days. The coughing is bad to start with (you think CF gunge is gross) and I remember Will's agony when he first sneezed!

  11. Hearing that the surgery has taken place and that Jim is doing well is great news! We are Joyce's brother and sister-in-law in Ohio. We always ask her how Jim is doing. We have a CF friend in TN and know how difficult it can be. Know that you're in our thoughts and sending our best wishes for a good recovery.
